First Impressions Last
Your child’s first dental visit and experience will shape the way they view visits to the dentist in the future. We want your child to have a comfortable and enjoyable first day to make them feel at home whenever they visit us for dental health maintenance or any other form of treatment. Our friendly staff and dentist will see to it that your child has a pleasant experience no matter what procedure they undergo.
Your Child’s First Dental Visit
We, along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommend that a child’s first dental visit be scheduled by his or her first birthday. Our goal is to provide an environment where your child can develop and maintain a positive attitude towards dentistry, and keep a happy, healthy smile.
Our dentist and staff will preform a comprehensive exam and take necessary x-rays. It is very important to make the first visit as positive and enjoyable for the child as possible. Parents play a large role in preparing children for a visit to our office. Because your child’s built-in radar can sense parental apprehension, try to remain relaxed. Please refrain from using anxiety-provoking words like, “hurt, pull, needle, blood, drill”, etc. Our staff has been trained to use age-appropriate words and explanations to prepare your child for each step of their clinical treatment.
At the conclusion of the exam, our dentist and staff will discuss their findings with you and answer any questions you may have.
